Have you been to the Ludacris Chicken & Beer Pop-Ups in Atlanta?

Ludacris Chicken & Beer opened in Concourse D in Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in 2016 as a partnership between Ludacris and Jackmont Hospitality, which specializes in airport concessions. One of the other Atlanta airport concessions under Jackmont Hospitality is One Flew South, which opened a brick and mortar restaurant on the Beltline (Eastside Trail). In the first half of this year, LCB has popped up twice at One Flew South, in March and May.

Some of LCB’s specialty dishes include fried chicken, shrimp & grits, catfish, and gumbo (classic Southern soul food). In March, I stopped in for brunch on my own dime to see what the concept was about. I tried the C&B Fried Chicken Sandwich, which comes with tots. The fried chicken was delicious and tender; the tots were nice and crispy too. I’m really glad the fried chicken didn’t disappoint since ‘chicken’ is in their name! The location is perfect for those visiting and walking along the Beltline to stop in for a meal; you can walk off your meal afterwards too.

As the May pop-up was announced, I was invited to return to try some more dishes as a content creator. This time, I was able to dine with a friend and tried the Three Wings, compressed watermelon salad, oxtail plate (comes with two sides and I got the jalapeño creamed corn and candied sweet potatoes), shrimp & grits, and a Classic G&T. My favorite food items were the wings — they were huge and the breading was crispy, oxtail plate — tender and a hefty portion, and shrimp & grits — a class Southern dish that is flavorful and tasty.

A little birdie told me they’re hoping to open up a brick & mortar location of their own in the future. Keep an eye out on their socials (IG) for announcements about (potential) pop-ups and special events!
